About Carmel Valley Reiki
Carmel Valley Reiki is located in the always beautiful Carmel Valley Village in Monterey County near the Carmel Valley Vintage Airfield. Carmel Valley Reiki (ReikiCV for short) provides clients with a variety of reiki related services in my home or in theirs or my office in Pacific Grove.
I am a Reiki Master Teacher, and I was fortunate to find a supportive local Reiki Master Teacher who taught me Reiki level 1 through my own Reiki Master training. I’ve deepened my Reiki knowledge by taking additional classes in Reiki subsets from other Reiki Masters so I have additional training in Animal Reiki and in Shamanic Reiki.
Reiki energy work can be performed on people and their pets, locally or at a distance. There are many different Reiki modalities. I work with my clients to determine their best healing outcome for a session and their comfort level and together we decide which modality we will use. For more about Reiki click here.
About Candace
Hi, I’m Candace Lutian, and I am Carmel Valley Reiki. I’m an Ohio native who transplanted to California in 2001, and Carmel Valley Village in 2008 after I married my husband, Paul Schlegel, a Carmel Valley native.
For the bulk of my life I did not believe that something like Reiki treatment could exist. When my grandmother first told me about Reiki practice in 1999 I believed it was a scam. In my defense, she did fall for a lot of scams. Flash forward 15 years and the word “reiki” just kept popping up around me, but I struggled to make sense of it. My pragmatic side simply didn’t believe it could work. The whimsical side hoped it did.
My break-though came while I was traveling in Switzerland on a tour of CERN and a scientist, who was also our tour guide, caught my eye and said ,”we know that our machines can only quantify perhaps 1/3 of what is out there; 2/3 of the universe, maybe more, is unknown to us. We are so arrogant, but we can’t even begin to know what we don’t know.” He then continued the tour as if nothing happened. But my life would never be the same. Here was a balance between science and spirit for which I’d been reaching. Once I took my first class in Reiki, connections started falling into place, and I knew that helping the world through Reiki practice would be an important part of my life moving forward.
You may wonder why I am telling you all of this. I want you to know that I too doubted, and it’s okay. As long as you are open to the possibility of it working, Reiki treatment will.
